The Regional District of Nanaimo and B.C. Transit are deploying a holiday bus they hope will spread cheer as it cruises through Nanaimo and area in the coming weeks.
Debuting at the Nanaimo Lions Christmas Parade this past weekend, the Santa Bus, decked out with a red nose, antlers and Christmas lights, will tour through Nanaimo, making special appearances, providing regular service and collecting non-perishable food items and money for charitable causes, including Salvation Army Nanaimo, according to a press release.
The Santa Bus will be at Woodgrove Centre on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m.-noon and Frank Crane Arena on Dec. 9 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. A number of elementary school stops are planned from Dec. 4-7 and 10-14. Its final stop comes Dec, 15 at Oceanside Place in Parksville from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Visit the #SantaBus in #Nanaimo between Dec 4 and 15 and drop-off your donations of non-perishable food or cash. Pick up a Rider’s Bulletin on board or visithttps://t.co/68rww66tkj for more details. @cityofnanaimo
