Here’s what’s opened and closed in Sooke over the holidays

A number of Sooke businesses have altered hours over the holiday season. Here’s what’s opened and closed between Christmas and New Year’s.

Pharmasave is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas and Boxing Day but open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. They are closed Jan. 1.

Shopper’s Drug Mart has reduced hours through Dec. 24-26, being open 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Day and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Boxing Day, with those also being the hours on New Year’s Eve and Jan. 1.

Western Foods has shortened hours around the holidays. The store is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas and is open 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. on Boxing Day, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and is open 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

Village Foods has the same hours as Western Foods Dec. 24-26, and has reduced hours of 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Dec. 27 to 30. The store is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

The RCMP office is open 8 a.m. to noon on Christmas Eve and then closed from Dec. 25 to 28. The station office reopens on Dec. 29 and has regular hours through New Year’s Eve. The office is closed on New Year’s Day.

The RCMP reminds residents that officers are always available to respond to calls and that the office is encouraging people to call rather than drop into the station, due to COVID-19.

The Canada Post office will be open until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and then will be closed from Dec. 25 to 28. The office is back to normal hours until New Year’s Eve, when they will close at 4 p.m., and remain closed until Jan. 3.

The SEAPARC Leisure Complex is open on Dec. 24 from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. and then closed Christmas and Boxing Day. Hours are reduced on Dec. 27-29 (6 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and on Dec. 30 the leisure centre is open 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. On New Year’s Eve the centre is open 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. and closed on New Year’s Day.

The District of Sooke is closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 3, with the statutory holidays carrying over since Christmas and Boxing Day is on the weekend.
