The Town of Qualicum Beach is conducting a survey regarding allowing backyard chickens in residential areas.
The town seeks feedback from residents before council can consider rescinding its decision last March not to continue the three-year backyard chicken pilot project that ran from May 2017 to May 2020. A total of 17 permits were issued, allowing to six backyard chickens or ducks.
Council wants the survey to be completed by October before they can discuss the issue on whether to permanently allow backyard chickens or ban them from residential areas.
The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete. Those who want to take part can go online at https://qbplanner.typeform.com/to/gBNijF21?typeform-source=www.qualicumbeach.com
