The show must go on, though it’s a little more scaled-down than usual.
The Comox Valley Exhibition, from Aug. 29 through 30, is happening for the 146th time. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, there are limits on attendance and how long people can stay. Events are being staged to allow for social distancing.
There is hay bale art and other exhibits on display, along with some regular features such as wood carving, horse events and the waterdog jumping. There are shows scheduled throughout the day. The events started at noon on Friday and run to 7 p.m. Saturday runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A maximum of 50 people will be allowed on site at one time.
This year event admission is by donation, and each person will receive a wrist band that will permit them to visit for one hour. Get tickets at cvex.tickit.ca to reserve a space to get in. For more information, see www.cvex.ca.
