It was a hot day Saturday, Aug. 10, the second day of the Campbell River Salmon Festival, and while spectators enjoyed blue skies and great food, the competitors in the festival two components – Logger Sports and Highland Gathering – sweated it out for prize money and honour.

Day three dawned with a little more cloud while the two events which combine to make the popular Salmon Festival continued with more competition on Sunday, Aug. 11.

The annual event draws crowds to Nunns Creek Park every August for music, food and intense competition in various disciplines in Logger Sports and traditional Highalnd games.
