Families will be able to go with the flow at Nanaimo’s water parks over the May long weekend.

Parks and rec will open the taps at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Nanaimo’s four water parks, located at Deverill Square Park, Departure Bay Kiwanis Park, Mansfield Park and Harewood Centennial Park.

The water will be on seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Signs at the sites will remind residents provincial public orders are still in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“The water parks in Nanaimo are a popular attraction during the summer season and are a great way to cool off during the hot weather while enjoying the other park amenities found at each of the four water park locations,” said Nanaimo Mayor Leonard Krog in a press release.
