Another signature Vancouver Island attraction is poised to step out of the shackles of COVID-19.
The Comox Valley’s Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa staff and management are preparing for their upcoming re-opening saying the health and safety of their guests and staff being their top priority.
Ocean7 Restaurant and AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar is slated to re-open in the latter half of May. Hotel rooms are now available for online bookings starting June 1, with the spa to follow.
Taking all appropriate protective measures outlined by WorkSafe BC and the BC Health Authority, there will be new standard operating procedures, which include strict and thorough cleaning and sanitization of all touch-points and surfaces throughout the resort in the front and back of house and continual deep cleaning protocols. The Kingfisher Resort’s re-opening plan also follows the direction and requirements provided by the BC Hotel Association and the BC Restaurant Association.
“We want to be a leader in setting the bar high so that guests can feel totally safe and relaxed when visiting the Kingfisher,” said general manager Aaron Greasley.
Some of the notables that make the resort stand apart include its accommodations having direct outdoor entry into each suite without having confined hallways and elevators.
The restaurant’s seating areas will be spaced out indoors and outdoors. Tables are being removed, creating safe space between guests. The patio will be expanded along the garden’s upper deck balconies taking in panoramic ocean views for all diners. Executive chef Richard Benson is also creating new healthy immune-boosting menu selections.
