In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness we announce that Traute Eilers passed away peacefully after a short stay at Dufferin Place with her husband at her side.

Traute was born in Delmenhorst, Germany and it is here where she met the love of her life, her future husband Egon. One day after her 21st birthday they were married and made plans to emigrate to Canada. Accompanying them in 1957, were her husband's parents, sister-in law and their firstborn son Wolfgang, with the destination of Vancouver.

After her husband's retirement, they moved to Cedar, BC and enjoyed Island life with new friends of the Happy Islanders RV Club. Traute looked forward each year to spend part of the winter in the south. She liked to cook and entertain her friends while enjoying a glass of white wine.

Traute is survived and lovingly remembered by Egon, her husband of 67 years, and her children Wolfgang (Karoline), Harold (Mihaela), and Robert (Hedy), as well as her cherished granddaughters who called her Omi, Connie (Daniel) and Sandra (Jordan).

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Dufferin Place and Doctor Poteryko for making her comfortable in her final days.

Traute's Celebration of Life

will follow in June.
