RCMP arrest driver sought in connection with Alberni Highway hit-and-run

Driver located and arrested in Nanaimo on impaired driving charge

The driver of a pickup truck wanted in connection with a reported hit-and-run crash on the Alberni Highway on Nov. 17 has been arrested in Nanaimo for impaired driving.

The red F-150 pickup truck was located by Nanaimo RCMP the same day, according to Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP.

One person was transported to hospital in stable condition after their vehicle was reportedly struck from behind at high speed in the highway’s 1900 block at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Coombs-Hilliers Fire Department and BC EHS also responded to the incident.
