Police look to public to help in attempted armed robbery in Duncan

The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are investigating an attempted robbery with a weapon that occurred Oct. 10 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The incident occurred in a parking lot in the 200 block of Evans Street when a man approached two people in a parked car and threatened them with a weapon, demanding drugs or money.

The quick-thinking victim reversed the vehicle, and the man then fled on foot and got into a dark coloured pick-up truck parked nearby.

The plates on the vehicle started with MR.

The truck is described as dark in colour, possibly a Dodge Ram with a lift kit and chrome on the back.

The man is described as white, approximately 5 foot 10, slim build, approximately 170 lbs and approximately 30 years old.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, a white facial covering that had red on the mouth (possibly an animated mouth with blood) and dark coloured pants or jeans.
